Membership

    Through TACAC Membership . . .

You will be recognized as a counselor who is interested in the future of our profession and as a person who has expressed a willingness to share your ideas with other counselors.

You will receive support from the network professional friendships you’ll develop in TACAC. Experienced counselors often become mentors for counselors. There are many informal activities acquainted with TACAC members.

You can expand your professional expertise by reading TACAC publications, attending TACAC workshops and conferences, and exchanging ideas with other counselors.

You will find answers to questions on financial aid, students’ rights in the admission process, ethics and other issues affecting the smooth transition from secondary to postsecondary education.

You will be able to contribute by participating in committee activities which affect your profession and the students you serve. There are many opportunities to be productive—to do things that you will feel good about.

You will have an impact beyond your own institution. Your involvement will add a new dimension to your job, enhance your professional development, and perhaps help you move ahead in your career.

We invite you to join TACAC! Becoming one of the 2000-plus members of TACAC offers you a professional network, opportunities to enhance your skills, and information to help you counsel your students more effectively. The membership year runs from August 31 - September 1 each year, though you may join at any time!  (Dues expire August 31 of the current year for applications approved January – May.  Dues expire August 31 of following year for applications approved from June – December.)  View the membership dues structure.

Apply for membership.  *When you apply online, you are able to pay via credit card or select a "bill me" or "pay by check" option.  Both the "bill me" and "pay by check" options will automatically generate an electronic invoice by which you can pay.  If you must, you can complete the paper application and return via mail or fax.

*Please note, in the state of Texas, the Texas Association for Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers (TACRAO) sets the statewide college fair day/night program schedule. Thus, membership in TACAC does not include that schedule. Please refer to their website for information.

Members, please share your professional and personal news with your TACAC friends. Contact Jeff Mayo with your Noteworthy Notable.
