Motivate Me


Motivate Me is a one-day conference designed to inform, inspire, motivate and empower young men from Texas high schools. In addition to hearing critical messages from community leaders, attendees will engage with college counseling and higher education professionals whose goal is to strengthen the students’ focus toward the future – specifically successful completion of high school and pursuit and completion of higher education.

Who should attend?

Rising high school sophomore males (Class of 2020), who will be completing or have completed their freshman year in high school in 2017. Students from underserved areas, of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, as well as those keenly interested in leadership development are highly encouraged to attend.

When and where will the conference be held?

Motivate Me will be held on August 12, 2017 from 9:00am – 3:00pm; registration check in will begin at 8:00am. Continental breakfast and a lunch will be served. The conference will be held at Southern Methodist University’s Lyle School of Engineering.

Is there a cost for this program?

No! The Texas Association for College Admission Counseling is proud to present Motivate Me at no cost to attendees.

How will I get there?

Attendees are expected to arrange their own transportation to and from Motivate Me. Details will be included in the confirmation materials.

How do I register?

Students should fill out the registration form via the TACAC website. In addition to the registration form and a parent  waiver will also be required. The parent waiver must be signed electronically by a parent or guardian.  NO ONSITE REGISTRATION WILL BE AVAILABLE.
