RAFFLE INFORMATION

The Anne Naman Fund Raffle Committee is excited to bring another round of awesome raffle items to conference. With a goal of raising at least $5,000, we will need your help. Raffle tickets will be sold during conference for $1 each .

This year's raffle is even more exciting than the last. We've got spirits and libations, university baskets, luxury hotel weekends, gift cards, loads of Kendra Scott jewelry, free Whataburger for a year...and even more.  Whether for you or an outing for the family, something is available for everyone and can be won for as little as $1!

Interested in donating an item or service to the raffle?

Contact Jamar Keaton, Anne Naman Fund Raffle Chair.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Our TACAC Conference service project will benefit The Isaiah Closet which serves children in the foster system in the DFW area.  Although the organization serves children from ages 0-18, we will be focusing on children ages 14-18, since this is also the population we serve.  Conference attendees will be asked to bring items that will be assembled by conference volunteers in first night bags, bags that are given to the kids in their first night of foster care as many arrive to their foster families with nothing more than the clothes they are wearing.

Requested items include new pajamas (with tags on-not school/college branded), socks, underwear, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and brushes/combs.  All adult sizes will be needed (S, M, L, XL, XXL) for males and females. Cash donations will be accepted as well.

Please stop by the Hamilton Room at Conference to drop off supplies and assemble a few First Night Bags. For questions, please contact Heather Dondis, Community Service Chair.

COLLEGE VISITS

Pre-registration for college visits in the DFW metroplex closed on February 25. Please click the link below to view a list of colleges and universities still accepting registrations. To register for a campus visit at a participating school, please contact the admission representative listed here. If you registered for a college visit prior to February 25, you will receive information about your visit directly from the college or university. Please direct specific questions about your visit to the college admission representative listed on the link above. Elizabeth Jones at The Hockaday School and Charlie Runyan at Fort Worth Country Day School are available to answer questions as well.

DFW METROPLEX COLLEGE VISIT REGISTRATION INFORMATION

COLLEGE FAIR/COUNSELOR CARD SWAP

Join us during conference for the Counselor Card Swap from 1:15 – 2:15 p.m. on Monday. Similar to a college fair, admission representatives will set up tables while high school counselors have an opportunity to meet and interact with them to obtain contact information. You do not want to miss this networking opportunity to build your contact list. Unlike a traditional college fair, the idea is not to bring or take-home lots of materials, but to exchange business cards only. College representatives must register and pay for the Counselor Card Swap at the time of conference registration. For questions, please contact Luisa Ramirez, Counselor Card Swap Chair.

WELLNESS ACTIVITIES

Who is looking for that #TACACMeTime at this year’s conference?  Carve out some time for YOU and join your colleagues in an early morning yoga session on Monday, March 25th from 6:30-7:30 AM.  All levels of experience are invited to participate in this wellness session - which is sure to be good for both your body and your mind.  We are well, we are fit, and we are yogis! Sign-up here to join the other yogis! For questions, contact April Canothe Wellness Committee Chair.  Don’t forget to pack your mat, and let’s yoga together!

CONFERENCE SOCIAL

What do boas, feathered caps, copious amounts of beads, and bowties all have in common? They’re all heavily encouraged for the Time of Your Life TACAC social Monday, March 25th from 7:30 to 10:00pm organized by the Dallas/Fort Worth Area Regional Network (DARN)! We humbly invite you to this 1920’s themed gathering of admissions representatives and counselors to celebrate with friends, colleagues, and that one person you see at all the TACRAO fairs but still don’t really know! Among the various activities, libations, and tomfoolery, a booth from Magnolia Photobooth Co. will be on hand to capture this special moment in time. We cannot wait to see you there!”

TACAC COMMITTEE WORK DAY

Join the Executive Board on Tuesday, March 26 at 8:00 AM for breakfast and to learn more about the work of each standing TACAC committee. Identify your interests and contribute your experience as you work hand in hand with the committee chairs to plan for the upcoming TACAC year.  For questions, please contact Micah Lyles. TACAC President-elect.
