2020 Annual Conference Cancelled

Due to the rapidly developing COVID-19 outbreak, the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, the travel restrictions at organizations within our affiliate, and other circumstances outside of our control related to COVID-19, TACAC has made the decision to cancel our Annual Conference planned for March 29-31.  

We know that many of you were looking forward to attending, presenting, and being part of this event. Your involvement in TACAC is greatly appreciated and your safety is our first priority. Thank you all for your diligent work to keep yourself, your students, and your institutions safe during this time.  

TACAC continues to be committed to connecting our members through professional development and professional social events. We will shift our focus to providing safe alternatives to large scale gatherings and will announce upcoming opportunities soon. Please check your email in the coming weeks for additional details.

Conference registration has reached over 700 attendees. With this number of registrants, we have hit capacity in the hotel meeting space and cannot register additional attendees.

We are also excited to announce a new conference feature that will allow individuals unable to attend conference the opportunity for professional development. TACAC LIVE! will broadcast two sessions live from conference on Monday, March 30, 2020! You may register for this live stream event here.

Payments must be received within 30 days of invoice to ensure your participation.

Member Rate - $225  ~  Non-member Rate - $260  ~  Local Educator's Day - $125 (90 mile radius)

There is no fee for substituting another participant if you are unable to attend. Submit your substitution via email to [email protected] no later than Friday, March 13, 2020.

Should you not be able to attend the conference, please notify us at [email protected]. All refunds are subject to a $15 processing fee. Guest tickets are non-refundable.

Full refunds (minus the $15 processing fee) must be received in writing before February 1, 2020. 
A half refund (minus the $15 processing fee) will be processed for cancellations received
February 1 - March 13, 2020.
No refunds will be processed for cancellations received after March 13, 2020 or for no-shows.


 The final schedule will be made available once sessions have been selected.

A few rooms have opened at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines. Rooms are available as space allows and can change daily. The Hampton Inn & Suites Austin-Airport has a small block for overflow available. 


Conference Volunteers - We Need You! Volunteering during the conference is the perfect place to connect with colleagues and assist the association. Whether it is providing directions, assisting with checking in, or passing out materials, we need YOU!

The Anne Naman Fund Raffle Committee is excited to bring another round of this awesome event. More than 50 donations have been secured from organizations throughout the country with some items valued at more than $500!  Donations include attraction and experience passes, vouchers, gift certificates, home goods, beauty/skin care products, as well as literally buckets of libations. Organizations represented include:

 Magnolia, Kendra Scott, Hyatt Lost Pines Resort, Dallas Mavericks, Frankly Vodka, Top Golf, Houston Zoo, and so much more.....

 Tickets will be sold during conference at a rate of $1 or $5 per ticket.

Our TACAC Conference service project will benefit SAFE Alliance Austin which provides comprehensive services to survivors of trauma and abuse. The organization advocates for improved response systems for those whose lives are touched by violence and abuse while working to create just and safe communities. 

Conference attendees will be asked to bring items that will be donated to SAFE Alliance Austin to assist teenage students affected by trauma and abuse.

There are many institutions that surround our Lost Pines' Central Texas location. We will work with area colleges/universities to provide tours for our members.

Sign ups will begin in early Spring 2020.


Join us during conference for the Counselor Card Swap from 1:15 – 2:15 p.m. on Monday. Similar to a college fair, admission representatives will set up tables while high school counselors have an opportunity to meet and interact with them to obtain contact information. You do not want to miss this networking opportunity to build your contact list. Unlike a traditional college fair, the idea is not to bring or take-home lots of materials, but to exchange business cards only.

College representatives must register and pay for the Counselor Card Swap at the time of conference registration. Only one registration per institution is needed. 


The beautiful setting of Lost Pines provides the perfect background for relaxation and wellness. Our Wellness committee will provide you with the opportunity to participate in activities.

Hollywood Nights: The Celebrity After Party

Do you have a favorite celebrity? Or even a favorite Reality TV Star? Well this is your opportunity to dress up and bring them to life at our annual conference social! For one night only, we will gather under the night’s sky and celebrate TACAC’s 40 years of incredible service.

Conference Social is included in full registration.  Participants in Local Educators Day can purchase tickets to the social at time of registration.


Join the Executive Board on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 8:00 AM for breakfast and to learn more about the work of each standing TACAC committee. Identify your interests and contribute your experience as you work hand in hand with the committee chairs to plan for the upcoming TACAC year.
