Topic: The College Essay: Finding Your Voice, Telling Your Story Description: CGN's monthly series for the Class of '27 continues with a topic many students and families get hung up on: the college essay. We'll cover what colleges hope to learn from essays, how to begin even when you feel like you have nothing to say, and how families can help without taking over. You'll come away with:
- A practical timeline for tackling essays before applications open, with a low-pressure way to start over the summer
- Ideas for finding a topic that sounds like you, including how to write about meaningful or personal experiences
- Tips for the critical supplemental essays many colleges ask for
